I have had many roles/titles in my life, but my favorite is easily Mommy. Becoming a mom and wanting to share all that I love in this world with my son has fueled my desire to start this shop. 

I stay busy taking care of my three boys: husband (Richard), son (Landon) and dog (Gryffin). I love hosting parties and helping out at Landon's school. My interests include: music, reading, dancing, traveling, good food, being outside and spending time with family & friends. I used to run and I think I'm going to try to get back into it.

The Jade Lotus is a culmination of my life experiences, my wish to help others and my love for beautiful things. I hope you join me on this journey.

What Are You?
I got asked this question a lot growing up and still now as an adult. My dad is Indian and my mom is of German/Scandinavian descent and grew up in the Midwest in a small farming community of about 1,000. Growing up amidst these two very different cultures made for a very interesting upbringing! Other kids would ask if my mom was my babysitter or if I was adopted. As a kid, being mixed/biracial often leads to many questions including who am I and where do I fit in. My son, who is 8, has started asking me some of these questions.

Our family loves books – and I’ve been thrilled to see more books for kids that address growing up biracial/mixed. Our shop will feature some of these books as well as bilingual books and books that feature various cultures.
